Center has grant to SMILE about

Farmington Observer, July 16, 2009

Community Living Centers of Farmington, which cares for approximately 125 adults with developmental disabilities in the community, has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families in support of their SMILE Program.

The SMILE Program at CLC was established in 2006 to help cover residents costs associated with daily dental preventive care and professional treatment. The awarding of this grant is especially timely as Medicaid payments for dental services will be eliminated indefinitely effective July, 2009.

The Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families promotes the growth of organized philanthropy that enriches the quality of life in the communities of Farmington and Farmington Hills.

The award was presented to Laura Pollaccia-Scanlan, CLC Executive Director, by Theresa Rich, chairman of the Foundation's Allocation Committee, at a reception held June 22 in the Maxfield Training Center.
