Halstead House, Farmington Hills
<--Previous Up Next-->

Halstead House was opened in 1992 on Halstead Road between 11 MIle and 12 MIle Roads. It's goal, when it opened was to provide another opportunity for eight women to gain skills so that they could increase their independence. That goal has not changed!
Today the ladies at Halstead are as busy as ever gaining skills and staying active in their community. The ladies are not a group to say "no" to any invitation, whether it's a party or an activity. During the week they can be found after a full day of work exercising at the local Powerhouse Gym, attending night school, bible study or a party. During the weekend they go bowling and participate in a number of different activities that the YMCA or Southfield Parks and Recreation organizes.
It is the dedication of all the staff and the ladies' family members that enables the residents to continue to grow and enhance their skills. With love and gentle encouragement each individual can reach their personal goals and potential.
