Code Road, Southfield

The Code Road home was originally a rectory for the priests of St. Michael's church and CLC has owned it since July of 1991. It is located off 10 Mile between Telegraph and Lahser Roads. It is home to eight consumers who range in age from 18 to 60 years. The home sits in a quiet residential community across the street from Southfield High School.
All of the residents work very hard and take pride in their work; most of them work in the community. One resident has worked at Kroger for more than 15 years. There are three residents who work for New Gateway and hold the position of assisting people with severe mental and physical disabilities. Another resident was recently awarded the JVS Strictly Business Employee of the Year award!
Code Road is known as the "party house"; everyone likes to keep busy with a variety of activities that range from bowling to casino trips, from bike riding to vacations, from a night at the movies to the Easter Bunny Hop at St. Michael's. They have a saying; "Let's go crazy", which really means "Let's go away for the weekend"!
